Each PMP study plan below starts with the heaviest domain, Process (41%), then People (33%), then Business Environment (26%), the weights in PMIĀ®'s 2026 content outline as of October 2026. Every plan ends with the timed mock exam; the 12-week plan also runs it at the half-way point.
PMI publishes no recommended number of study hours, and an average borrowed from a forum describes somebody else's gaps. Measure yours before week 1: work each domain chip of the practice set cold, before reading anything, and count the misses per domain. That tells you where the weeks should go.
Keep the timed mock for later. It is one fixed set, so the half-way checkpoint in the 12-week plan and the final run repeat the same packages; read the second score as pace and recall.
Then pick by calendar. Count the evenings you can actually protect each week; a plan you can only keep by skipping topics is the wrong length. If a domain is still weak after the plan, the honest answer about difficulty is on is the PMP exam hard.

About 60% of items use agile or hybrid approaches (PMI ECO, as of October 2026)
Agile team background, few baselines or change boards

Cold practice run under half right in two domains
12 weeks
Concept weeks plus a half-way mock to check the plan is working
04One study evening, in order
Read one topic or concept page from the week's row.
Work its packages, or that domain's chip in the practice set.
Reread the notes on every miss, including the options you did not pick.
Ten minutes of flashcards on formulas and look-alike terms.
05If exam day comes early or goes badly
PMI's eligibility period is one year and allows up to three attempts, per its certification handbook as of October 2026. A plan that slips a few weeks costs nothing but a reschedule; rebooking within 30 days of the appointment carries a $70 fee plus taxes. Fees and waiting periods for a second attempt are on the PMP exam retake page.
